Blackerspace Technology Workshop For Boys
The Blackerspace Technology Workshop For Boys is a program that introduces youth to computer programming, electronics, and mechanical disciplines via hands-on exploration, experimentation, hacking, and assembly. Participants are exposed to current, real world technologies in a workshop environment. They are encouraged to work together while advancing at each individual’s own pace. The goals of the “Blackerspace Tech Lab” are to inspire self-confidence, fuel creativity, encourage self-learning, and promote team work.
Participants have an opportunity to experience hands-on:
• Computer programming, creating computer games, and micro-controller coding
• Electronics by designing, assembling, soldering, and trouble-shooting electrical circuits
• Mechanics by working with motors, and gears, hacking (disassembling) devices, and exploring robotics
Requirements:
- Boys ages 7 to 15
- Purchase a training computer for your child (cost varies)
- Supportive parent(s) to encourage and transport child if required
